Nintendo Borrowing More Ideas?

Amidst all the talk about Spherical Worlds, comes more evidence that Nintendo maybe borrowing more ideas and in turn may not be that innovative of a company. In the new DS game, Phantom Hourglass, there are enemies that closely resemble the monsters from the horror film tremors. They are completely underground and react on sound and listen to your footsteps to attack you. They come from underneath and swallow you whole. How do you defeat them? Exactly how the characters in the movie did. You throw bombs which when bounced on the ground attract the monsters to swallow them up. The bombs then explode, killing the baddie internally. Could this "borrowing" of ideas be a sign that Nintendo is struggling to find new ideas and is losing their touch? Honestly I don't think so but it's funny that there's a connection.

My Impressions of Phantom Hourglass: Love it.
